I read obituaries often, almost daily. If I see someone I knew, even a person I interacted with just once, I leave a comment in the book. It might be a former teacher or coworker. One was a tow truck driver. This may not mean much to loved ones, but to me, it's the little things that count.

When I was in college, I sat with an 80 year old German lady who had lived in Nazi Germany. She gave me a book of Hans Christian Anderson fairy tales for Christmas because I'd told her I liked them so much as a kid.
