I grew up with TOS(reruns!) and was a teenager during TNG, waiting from week to week for new episodes. I am now watching DS9 which I never liked in the beginning, religion and politics were not my thing. I’m almost at season 5 and love it now(minus the mirror universe).

It’s striking that what-about-ism is often brought out if either artist or fan are women. I don’t hear so much „how can you enjoy painting your Warhammer minis while there’s a genocide going on, Steve?“

For me personally, I would love to say that I don’t care. But it might give me pause and I would adjust. It really depends on the type of attachment one expects

Not a deal breaker but I believe it would be important to openly discuss everyone’s expectations.
I do not think that the profession in itself is inherently different than others but. It is definitely stigmatised so it depends more on how much the outside person is influenced by them.

I also enjoy that the eagle seems to now have two heads like the Russian Tsarist emblem…

Verstehe nicht warum von Zwang oder woke gesprochen wird? Meine Großmutter war Alles Andere als woke wenn sie uns durchgefüttert hat. Wir waren halt arm und Fleisch war teuer.
Einiges davon vermisse ich auch.

I started reading Intermezzo by Sally Rooney. Barely 70 pages în but already awed. Such tenderness and empathy for how people are treating themselves others based on the flawed understanding of our own emotions
