Welsh, Muslim female, Welsh speaker, author, columnist (Lingo360, BylinesCymru), children's stories (Cip), and crazy crafter. Books available via independent bookshops and Books Council Wales.
So here we are. My 4th book, but the first children's one, illustrated by the ridiculously talented Catherine Cains. Packaging them up for the Books Council Wales to distribute, so if your local independent bookshop doesn't have it, they can order it in in about a week's time. Ages 6-9, RRP £8.00.

Lovely day in Bristol yesterday, starting at the Red Lodge (Tudor museum), then the Georgian House, nearly gave myself a heart attack walking to the top of Cabot Tower, then the best part, the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. I saw paintings by artists I've been learning about ❤️

Amazing new exhibition at the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery in Swansea: Tigers and Dragons, looking at Mother India and Mother Wales, and the colonial history, through the most astounding artworks. It's running for 6 months, so no excuse not to go! Amazing watching Nikhil Chopra do a live installation1/3

24.04.25 - Abercamlais near Brecon is privately owned, still within the same family for over 500 years, but is open on certain days throughout the year for guided tours by the owner. Very interesting and only £8 per adult.

The sun started shining as soon as I got to Eastnor Castle. My perfect ideal of a faux castle and the walk around the lake was lovely.

Got this book from a second hand bookstore. The poems are written 'by' the cats of famous poets. The titles are hysterical, my fave is 'Do not go peaceable to that Damn Vet' by Dylan Thomas' cat 😹😹😹 and of course I have to use my cat bookmark for it...

Bought the Wordsworth book in a fab second hand book shop, found the rest of the series on eBay. They're gorgeous books, but can't find much info online about the illustrator Patricia Machin. I'd love to know more about her.

As part of my current research, I'm reading this account from the memoir of John Henry Vivian of Swansea of when he met Napoleon Bonaparte during his first exile on Elba. This is what Napoleon said about the Americans. Turns out he was Nostradamus II...

Today I was at Glan Cynon Surgery in Mountain Ash for a meeting and this beautiful statue was outside. I'm ashamed to say I didn't know who Elaine Morgan was. I have educated myself since I got home.
