Yein is a male elezen in the game, and I always forget until someone calls me "mr. tank" or some such. Truly, if you queried Yein's gender, the value would return as NULL.

Yein would give the gift of gold and jade. During their brief years in Ul'dah, they came to really appreciate fine goldsmithing. Jade holds special meaning bc of their familial beliefs -- the belief that pure jade wards away misfortune. Even if they don't believe this, the sentiments run deep.

More elezen! This is Lia, whose family history is tied closely to Yein and Sacheo's lineage. Her story is also heavily immigrant-coded but more from the perspective of a later generation, as her family had immigrated to Ishgard long enough ago to set down roots.

Gonna throw Yein and Sacheo into the thread. They're twins with a winding backstory and family history that combines the game's canon with some real-world East Asian (Chinese primarily) folklore. Mostly a lot of ghosty spooky stuff. Many life events and their thinking are immigrant-coded.
