The great thing about AI is that you can remake movies the way you remember them

Fun story: The Flatiron was supposed to be called the Fuller Building, for the architect George Fuller. But nobody called it that. Everyone called it the Flatiron. So when the Fuller company built their new HQ in midtown, they put “Fuller Building” on it in big letters so that wouldn’t happen again.

My first GPT-5 vibe-coding experiment is a game I’ve been wanting to make for a while and now I have a simple but playable prototype. I present: DOOMscroll! The game you play just by scrolling. ironicsans.com/doomscroll/

Bit of an overreach from Apple promoting their new movie by literally printing its name on every computer they sell. We get it, Apple.

Amazon’s proof-of-delivery photo wasn’t strictly necessary this time since there were two witnesses.

There are some really cool comics on offer today for Free Comic Book Day but I especially love this “work in progress” edition of the comic adaptation of the Dark Mirror episode San Junipero. www.freecomicbookday.com

Just remembered a drawing I did of Val Kilmer in dry erase marker back in high school, when I had a monthly gig as the "coming soon dry erase board" guy at my local video store in exchange for free rentals.

I use Hazel for filing but there are always one-off files that don't fit any of my rules and pile up. So I used ChatGPT to write a script that uses a local LLM (so nothing leaves my computer) to examine and rename those files according to guidelines. I'm still refining it, but it's promising so far!

I submitted a Freedom Of Information request to the NYC Mayor's office 18 months ago. I just got yet another notice of extension. I don't even need this information anymore but I'm keeping the request open as a matter of principle.

Reading an article in the NY Times I noticed that their curly quotes are not always using the quote character but two curly apostrophes. Elsewhere on the same page it uses the quote character. Any theories on why? (It's not always a quote-within-a-quote where I see it, but sometimes it is)

Thanks to a Trump Executive Order, the department known as USDS, which always stood for U.S. Digital Service, has been renamed U.S. DOGE Service. This means that the D in the initialism USDS now stands for an acronym. Is this the only department with a recursive acronym or initialism?
