it's super sus for me because im reading the story and i immediately clocked it to mean it should be the uncle+niece being referred here. so it's like, did no one read the story? the story they're translating?! 😭😭😭

and either the editor dropped the ball here or they were in a rush to put it out so there is no proofread/quality check/consistency check done.

the only other uncle in the series (who again is not even in the scene, and does not have mystical powers) is liang yuanfeng's PATERNAL uncle.

this is the fkking last 20p of the book, are you telling me you tled ALL 300+ pages without knowing it should mean the "niece and nephew"? i don't think it's my misunderstanding here bc if anything, it's more confusing to use "nephew" vs "niece"

- the uncle of the nephew-uncle pair isn't in the room
- the uncle-nephew pair does NOT have the supernatural powers necessary for the context the phrase is used to make sense
- it would make MORE sense if it was said "niece and uncle" who has the supernatural powers

the tl is kinda... not smooth but not something I'd say mtl

but what really damns it is this part in the climax where they tled something as "nephew and uncle" and there's only one pair of known nephew and uncle here
