(2/2) I had an interesting view of the pokemon hype building up both in The Netherlands and then immigrating to Canada in 2001. The merchandising was huge even before I knew it was a video game franchise, and it's been one of the core pillars of my nerdy interests for as long as I can remember.

(1/2) While I've owned all the games including most spin-offs since red/blue, my first exposure to the franchise was the first 2 films. I clearly remember lugia's theme from second movie being my first emotional response to a piece of music, I was too young to understand why I felt that way.

QOTW: I guess my true has to be Shadow of the Erdtree, but THAT'S BORING! So I'll mention something that hasn't already been talked up, No Man's Sky. Just this year they've added fishing, pirate freighters and ship customization and each update comes with a new community mission all for free!
