FYI queer coding is mostly associated with villains and effects of Hayes Code on productions in the US. fandom often says queer coding when they mean queer subtext more generally, queer reading, or similar, which is a bit confusing when we also still actively use the term to talk about this history
Queer coding may have a negative impact on perceptions of queerness in media; villains are often queer-coded, leading to the pejorative perception of queer traits. Critics have noted the Walt Disney Company's attribution of queer characteristics and behaviors to villainous or antagonistic characters. Because of the Hays Code, positive portrayals of homosexual characters were barred, and the only characters in fiction that could be perceived as homosexuals had evil roles and were punished throughout the work. Thus, villains became noted in particular to have effeminate characteristics, behaviors or gestures that could be perceived as LGBTQ. Disney characters have attracted attention because their films are popular among children.

Global Bird Flu Risk Assessment: From Spillover to Pandemic Potential. In order, different factors or stages are organized in a stack, from most probable impact to general population to least probable impact to general population. Here they are in order: H-to-H airborne (across countries). H-to-H spread (multiple clusters). Human-to-human spread (cluster). Sustained transmission in pigs. Lots of sporadic human cases (arrow pointing at this says "we are here"). Sporadic human cases. Sustained transmission in mammals. Spillover to mammals. Mass infections in poultry. Mass infections in wild birds. End of the stack of factors or stages. There are notes to the side of the stack. H-to-H airborne (across countries) is indicated as pandemic. Another note indicates that H-H transmission is bad - it's pointing at the top of the stack where the most probable impact factors or stages are listed. At the bottom of the graphic: Baseline risk of a pandemic randomly occuring any year = 2%.
