That’s great if he: comes back, actually gives 100%, the squad accepts him, doesn’t get injured or play to prevent injury and preserve a future move etc.
Until he shows up, I consider him a write off. Also I suspect our spending is with his sale in mind.

Like you, would rather have him if I could

Yeah I mean the player works. He’s good in the air, strong and runs well. His finishing isn’t “elite elite”, but I’d take him if he fits in

He’s on 10M euro a year. Might be a salary issue.

That’s a good point. Patterns would have been different causing him to think a bit more. Hadn’t thought of that possibility

Good work from Neave led to an OG

Yeah let’s not bet on an Everton retread. His fitness record is muck.
But your point is a good one. Take some chances, but for the love of god, get some speed in central defense, and raise the bloody floor.

It might balance out a lot of the salary differences all right. Plus Miggy and Lloyd Kelly are completely gone.
Who knows with Isak. Could be monstrous, but mostly deserved.

As a standalone transfer, sure. It’s about $16M (transfer) and let’s say $7.5M(salary, about $150k a week) annually. Let’s assume Elanga was $12M and $6M. I’ll be wrong, but not too much. That’s $41.5M a year. So adding 3 more is going to require balancing. Cool problem though!

Doesn’t feel like enough. And if they both go, add a MF to CB and GK as a position of need.
Really interesting how this will shape up

He looks the part. Would be an interesting add, particularly if Willock leaves.

Yeah I’d love this deal. He was so good, would love to see what Howe can do with him.
