15 years ago some nice people from an ad agency arrived at my house to shoot a bit with a script for me about how scary mothers are. “But that’s not the film,” I told them. “Then write a new script,” they said. So I did.

Hi...my friends call me Doc.

I was a firefighter and flight paramedic for most of my career. Then I moved to Los Angeles for a stint and that changed everything.

I enjoy homesteading, writing, fixing dialogue, supporting veterans, snowboarding, video editing, and assisting others.

Wait - check that - I do boot into Windows on occasion to get my post-apocalyptic/cyberpunk gaming withdrawal needs filled.

Fallout, Cyberpunk 2077, stuff like that.

I don't game much but after the Atari 800/Commodore 64/Amiga days, coupled with William Gibson's Neuromancer...what can I say?

It's rare to sell a screenplay your first go around so don't give up.

Don't just complete one - have three ready to go for your first meeting. It's a must until you're established.

My buddy Aaron told me to be ready, "This is great, what else do you have?"

That was sound advice.

I prefer GrapheneOS over Android or iOS.

Linux over Windows or MacOS.

Why?

- Security
- End user control
- Open source

Final Draft and video editing are the only reasons I boot into Sonoma on my iMac Pro.

If you're a writer, experienced or not, consider taking a Masterclass. You will undoubtedly gain valuable knowledge that will up your game.

I recommend ones by Neil Gaiman, Ron Howard, Aaron Sorkin and Shonda Rhimes.

Yup, this old fanboy can't believe that my first welcome was from Neil Gaiman.

Zero followers, he was the first person I followed, and he replied.

Bluesky is different indeed.

Crap, I'm definitely going to have to be on my best behavior now.

Hmm

Discover has no updates after putting the phone down for 30 mins? To new to be blocked...

Must be the learning curve.

To the late, great, Kevin Mitnick - wish you were on here to share your knowledge and insight.

What can I say, @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com had to be the first person I followed.

His collective works, his Masterclass...incomparable.

My first post...there's a fuck ton of cat lovers and anime on here.

This guy kills cats but I love him regardless.
