We are the Irish Section of the Huguenot Society of Great Britain & Ireland.
The artist of the HMV painting is Francis Barraud of Huguenot descent, who painted "His Master's Voice” featuring his dog Nipper. Barraud's patrilineal great-grandfather was an eminent chronometer maker of Huguenot extraction, who came over to England after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes.

This blue plaque marks the location of the French Church in Lisburn. Established by the refugees arriving in 1698, the community included members of the Crommelin family - central to the production of Linen. Their history lives on, so well worth a visit on a day like today.
