The Venneshamn orphans, winners of the 1925 Snowman Contest in Inderøy, Norway, pose for the newspaper. They called their creation Farfar (grandpa).
The kids said they would "feed" it every day so it would last throughout the winter. Despite some decay, it outlasted every other competitor.
