I saw it at the Stratford Festival two and a half years ago - really made me realize how much Roger and Mimi bog it down (not on the performers though - they were great), because Collins and Angel are 100% the real heart of that story

If anything, given how well they've handled Durin and Disa, I'm actually pretty optimistic for what's coming next for Galadriel! (Also Disa who's allowed to be ambitious without ever being demonized or punished for it, *chef's kiss*)

Don't mind me I'm just staring in the distance mechanically petting my cat, blissfully too dumb and orange to notice anything

Honestly... I have a theory she'll be the one helping Miriel up the Meneltarma during the Fall of Númenor.

There were A LOT of books in the late 2000s-early 2010s that were professionally published, and that I knew were terrible even as a 14-year-old. I could name them but I won't out of sheer grace.

"BUT THE OVERALL QUALITY OF PUBLISHED BOOKS--" Babe. I lived through the Twilight copycats. The Vampire Diaries copycats. The Hunger Games copycats. Speaking as someone who works in comms/translation, I think ppl should be much more concerned and advocating for regulation of AI, but that's just me

And by that, I mean that 60% of it were all about a "parents are always right" mindset that I've seen too often in conservative settings, and yes, I do find that concerning that it's still so mainstream

Oh, I wasn't trying to diss people who like stuff in good faith - I think TLJ is the most solid film of the 3 and that it's unfairly maligned, despite its flaws. My gripes stem from... very frustrating conversations back in the day, haha.

The original trio fundamentally failed their kid and got basically a slap on the fingers for it and completely, COMPLETELY useless deaths given said kid also died, btw

Also: Reylo is vanilla af, it just became big when people still thought BatB was about Stockholm Syndrome as if any of them had a degree in psychology. Also the complete unwillingness to view the original trio as anything else but quasi saints, and yes I'm including the TLJ fans in there
