Today I was trying to get our giant suitcases tetrissed into a cabinet in our place and found my old recipe box!!! I had thought maybe it was an accidental casualty in the loads of things we gave up to come here but no, it was just inside an outer pocket of one of the suitcases the whole time. 😊☀️🥂

I haven't updated in awhile, but we are doing ok here. Things are less frantic now and now it just feels like the language barrier is our hardest everyday problem. Which is a big problem but it's solvable, unlike this new blemish on my favorite coffee cup. Things like this really throw me sometimes.

I've been buying more random used things lately and I just went to pick up this mirror and the guy had noticed that my WhatsApp pic outs me as a musician (since I'm trying to find musicians here) and he gave me this record as a gift bc he never listens to it. ❤️❤️ Now I gotta get a record player!

Some random pictures I've taken lately. I do have a fascination with the old cars/trucks here!

Feria haul, not including the cute patch I bought for my instrument case!

I think like anything else, emigrating is a mixed bag. I am recognizing that some who create a lot of emigration content either glorify the experience or totally try and scare the bejesus out of you.

Grocery prices- bread, eggs, butter x 2, chips x 2, snack. It came to about $22. This was from the local tienda (small store, lots of variety, shallow inventory.) You can see the prices on the receipt. #Uruguay

Made my veggie recipe again. Making this always makes me feel good. Having it on hand all week makes everything so much easier!

Waiting for the taxi, I saw this truck parked near the end of the feria. I would guess it belongs to a farmer, maybe it's the one who sold us our veggies today, ha

Some images from yesterday after the alternate feria. There were a ton of parakeets around us being really noisy! 🦜

Yesterday I bought this super cool cauldron at the feria and then I had to go find this old recipe I used to make from a family cookbook. I had stopped making it because I never had a big enough pot! It was so good and the kids loved it and we had a really nice night. ❤️💃🏻🇺🇾

At the feria I saw this book shop and the whole place was as cool as this.

Our second Saturday in a row to go to the cat cafe here. This little weirdo was cute but hated by all the other cats 😹😿
That triangle patch was the only dark fur on him. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Like everything's ok, but for instance I made too much coffee this morning (first time making myself coffee here) and I have no jars to put it in.

Saw these on a walk by the ocean the other day ❤️🇺🇾

I think the coolest part was the caller SINGS everything with a guitar. Here's a short video but you can't really hear the caller that well. No one seemed hurt in this.

Evening and night skies in Montevideo. Today was really a beautiful day, also it rained a couple of times. #exitingtheUS

Elevators here speak directly to my sense of order! ⚡ The ground floor is always 0 not G or 1, and any floors below that are simply what is next on the number line, -1, -2, etc., and not like P1 or random things.

My youngest loves Buicks (♾️ iykyk) and they were sad when we found out there's no Buicks in Uruguay. But Buick has a relative named Opel they sell in Europe and WE SAW ONE OF THOSE today. Youngest was so happy!
