Gripping and relentlessly tense, The Ratcatcher on Audible is a dark psychological thriller that slowly tightens its grip. The narration is excellent, pulling you into a bleak, unsettling world of moral ambiguity, disturbing twists, and a sense of dread that lingers long after the end.

Behind a Locked Door by Sarah A. Denzil is a tense, gripping psychological thriller. Twists come fast, secrets unravel slowly, and the claustrophobic atmosphere keeps you guessing. Some parts feel far-fetched, but it’s an addictive, chilling read that’s hard to put down.

I really enjoyed Outland by Dennis E. Taylor at first — great premise, pacing, and world-building. Sadly, I stopped at chapter 56 when needless Islamophobic tropes appeared (Hamas attacking Israel, Iran invading Iraq). It ruined what had been a smart, engaging story.

The Tide by Anthony J. Melchiorri promised cutting-edge biotech horror but instead delivered bloated, cliché-ridden writing. Long-winded prose drags every scene, and the constant “rah-rah” American tone makes it feel shallow. Whatever tension it had was lost. Stopped halfway

So I've read all 12 books that have come before this one and for the first time I've felt disappointed after finishing.

It portrays Muslim characters through a lens of suspicion, linking them to terrorism. This reinforces stereotypes contributing to harmful biases in popular fiction.

Joe Hill’s The Fireman has an intriguing premise, but its bloated length, uneven pacing, and underdeveloped characters make it a slog. Repetitive scenes, melodrama, and forced pop culture references undermine its tension. Really struggled to finish this one!
