It takes real skill to take two opposing positions and manage to be wrong with both.

It's not OpenAI and Anthropic that are gonna get bailed out in such a situation despite Sacks' and Altman's wishcasting. They're too small and unimportant to bail out. Instead, it'll be the Nvidias and Microsofts that get bailed out because their products are vital to business outside of AI.

The OLED is a little faster (barely), has a slightly bigger battery, and supports HDR. Other than that, there's not much difference. I believe the LCD version could not be woken up with a BT controller initially but Valve says this has been added in a recent software update.

Oh, you think capitalism is bad just because of all the structures capitalism has built like Taylorism and corporate structures? That's why you're not considered a serious thinker, unlike me, a person who writes for The Economist as an AI industry stenographer!

A lot of people have been trained to believe that criticism of one thing is an endorsement of its opposite. It's a lovely little mental cage that not encourages their own silence, but also drives them to seek to quell others' criticism.

If they did mention Vietnam, in true abuser "look at what you made me do" fashion, the people bombed and starved by the USA would also be considered victims of communism, just as they do with the Cubans that the US trade blockade harms today.

Well, he was just ahead of the curve. Eventually much of the rest of the reddit atheists caught up with him.

I think it's worse than that. The system is designed to systematically corrupt everyone in it. "You wanna get stuff done, right? Just make this small sacrifice to prove you're serious or you'll be shut out completely!" Each Faustian bargain further pushing them into debasement until fully integrated

I don't know if most people even realize the gun is broken, to continue the analogy. For a long time, lawmakers have waved around this figurative gun before placing it back on the shelf, unfired. Having someone try to fire the gun, and fail, could be a useful political education for a lot of people.

If given the choice, I firmly believe that most local TV reporters would rather deliver stories like this than the usual endless crime reporting. A low stakes story like this is the perfect opportunity to deploy their puns, and I don't think any of them can resist a good (or bad) pun.

They mean unpopular with their donors, of course, and all of those are unpopular with them. What the voters actually want is completely immaterial to them, and then they have the gall to wonder why popular belief in democracy is waning.

Taking away burgers from Americans might be the one thing you can do to create a revolution.

This needs to be widened to all business crooks. So-called "white collar criminals" get away with everything and the rare case where something is prosecuted, it rarely amounts to anything beyond a pitiful fine that merely gets rolled into the cost of doing business.

There's going to be people dying of relatively low fevers, normally easily treatable with either of these, as a result of this crap. These aren't merely convenience medications -- they save lives.

The media has decided that it's cheaper and easier to just report what other people have said instead of doing the hard work of "journalism". It also generally insulates you from spurious lawsuits from the Trump admin.

Also, what "men" are we even talking about? Most men don't have crypto. Most men would probably prefer to have a home to some stupid memecoin.

Weird crypto bros are such a tiny sliver of society to make policy over, especially when that policy is legalizing scams.

Far less offensive than Cuomo's actual anti-Mamdani ads. Probably would've been more effective, too.

They're useful because they keep power centered who already have power and shut out everyone else. That's why they'll always have their job, no matter how badly they publicly eat shit on something like this.
