i have been told i have a good taste in movies.
Really wanted to like this movie based on the female antagonist alone, but even with the half assed explanation for her villian arc I couldn't justify filling in the blanks myself. I don't think she even has a single line in this movie? She should have at the very least gotten a monologue at the end.

Every single character in this movie is important and designed specifically to showcase the top 1% stereotypes we all know and hate. This movie was pure poetry through and through.

There really isn't a lot I can say about this movie without spoiling the entire thing, so I just urge you to watch it. Thank you to my best pal Ink for recommending it to me! (:

Also worth saying that this movie was triggering for me because it plays around with infant death as a theme, but it was a good watch regardless. There's something so horrid about being a mentally ill woman stuck taking care of your baby in a 'haunted' farm house while your s/o is always at work.

I gave this movie a 5/10 because it doesn't pretend to be something it isn't, and it really does make you think. It definitely leans into the whole "this could happen to you" thing very well. I think if it was a short film I would have rated it a lot higher, it just felt a little too drawn out.

That being said there is something deeply horrorific and unsettling about the concept of parasites taking over the body of someone you know, and making them unrecognizable to you. They def play around with that, but it just doesn't invoked the emotions they were clearly going for. Which sucks balls.
