When I worked retail, grifters would try the “Can you break a hundred? Oh, wait, now can you…” scam. I knew to slam the cash drawer shut with a clang so others near by would notice. And then loudly say:
“Stop. Just stop. You will NOT rip me off.”
Slam the drawer shut loudly and immediately.
“Stop. Just stop. You will NOT rip me off.”
