Nice that they're pretty decent bandwidth USB ports though which you don't get out of USB2.0 ports, getting 10 mostly usable USB-A ports and HDMI out of 3 USB-C ports is nice aside from the cable mess

I'd say the biggest W for USB-C from using a mac mini m4 is that it takes up less physical space directly on the device than -USB-A

But all of my USB-C ports are attached to USB-C -> USB-A hubs other than one of my external SSDs

2.0 is a bit rough but I've still literally only had one usb-c device that isn't my phone ngl

Unless the VPN connection or whatever has its own service (e.g. like wg-quick would) you probably couldn't do an After=vpn.service or whatever and even then I'm not sure that would guarantee the interface is completely up

Best idea I can muster is you could run a bash script that runs a loop checking for the condition you want (plus a second or two sleep to not fry your CPU while it's waiting)

in theory running the script as an ExecStartPre= in a systemd service would block it from starting until the script exited.

I miss having fun streaming

They justified the downtime by mentioning "haha we're totally working towards more upload speed guys"

I'll probably see an improvement a day before I move out of here
November 6, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Downgraded me to 100Mbps it's over for me
November 6, 2025 at 9:09 PM
eh 5 hours isn't too criminal I guess, but my upload speed didn't improve.....

Yeah dunno if it's changed since but when I got my Kobo it was pretty trivial to get KOReader installed

Never really explored anything super low level past that (e.g. application development)

Actually optimal because you don't have to spend weeks checking for a response only to not get one

It was raining out so don't really blame people, but I also didn't need a Costco sized candy bag to myself

Not worth fighting support over or logging into an account for a digital license so I guess mg it is

One of my copiums for still using W11 is that I had a valid key for it but I guess that's out the window now
October 26, 2025 at 3:07 AM

October 26, 2025 at 3:00 AM

I think my grandfather is still using an mid-to-late 90s HP DeskJet that he has been refilling ink cartridges on for decades

I'm just glad I could fix it in person rather than over the phone, not that she could have used the phone to call me anyways 🙃

side note I had to google for an emoji windows 11 is dead to me
Probably somewhere I opted out of sending literally all my keystrokes to microsoft
