In another news, this week I had the honour of attending a concert by the 82 year old pianist Martino Tirimo with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. Both were amazing and I’m glad I didn’t miss it!

I woke up at 5am for a long bike ride, though I averaged 5ish hours sleep this week and desperately need some rest. Bad idea. After the ride, I’ll take a quick shower and head straight for brunch, which means I’ll both eat and remain hungry at the same time. Another bad idea.

Θα παρακολουθήσουμε ένα κονσέρτο πιάνου απόψε. Είμαι όμως κουρασμένος, έχοντας ξυπνήσει η ώρα 4πμ όταν ξύπνησε η μικρή και δεν μπόρεσα να κοιμηθώ ξανά. Ελπίζω να μην με πάρει ο ύπνος γιατί εν ρεζίλι, συν το δούλεμα της Sunshine.

Θα παρακολουθήσουμε ένα κονσέρτο πιάνου απόψε. Είμαι όμως κουρασμένος, έχοντας ξυπνήσει η ώρα 4πμ όταν ξύπνησε η μικρή και δεν μπόρεσα να κοιμηθώ ξανά. Ελπίζω να μην με πάρει ο ύπνος γιατί εν ρεζίλι, συν το δούλεμα της Sunshine.

I suppose the Fidias hype is gone, no matter his desperate attempts to sustain it. The idea of more direct representation is not a bad one, certainly not a new one, but not within the apolitical and populist framework of Fidias' lack of political awareness, which will likely favor the extreme right.

I re-read Kafka's famous story, Metamorphosis, some 20 years after the first read. Back then, I remember feeling the intensity of the plot, the agony of the protagonist. Now, I am a different person. Now, all I could think were the multi-layered metaphors.

The civil service urgently needs programme and project managers. Assigning random officers to manage big projects, while on the other side you have programme experts of the Big 4 and the top property developers, is not to the benefit of the taxpayer. cyprus-mail.com/2025/10/17/v...

I'm getting more mature, if not old. I decided to skip a bike ride due to feeling a bit under the weather. Normally, I would just go on my ride, complete it, and feel awful . That said, Sunshine wants us to go to Jumbo, so having a bit of fever on the bike may have been the better option.
