The Trump administration's cuts to tax enforcement have been substantial. The IRS' criminal enforcement section lost 10% of its workforce, more than 300 people. Some of those who remain have been diverted to other types of cases. And DOJ lost at least a third of its lawyers who focused on tax crime.
