If you look closely you can see green clumps/dots. This is Marsilea Hirsuta and according to online sources "It is a heterosporous plant, meaning it produces in two types of spores: micrspores and megaspores.

Are these spore's?? Does anyone know?

Update on our only non contaminated Anubias culture. There seems to be something poking out of here hopefully its the worlds smallest shoot we are at 2 weeks 5 days of this rhizome cutting being in tissue culture.

#MossMonday has come so fast and I may be a tad unprepared... But here's what the moss from last week started as. Never underestimate the power of moss!🌿

Also more tissue culture stuff coming soon! Should we try and culture some moss?👀

Update on these cultures 3/4 have become contaminated. 1 with mold and 2 with bacteria, and surprisingly the one pictured here on the bottom has shown 0 signs of contamination, so ill take that as a win🤷‍♂️

In #Okinawa, coastal fishermen now farm #coral, restoring #reefs like planting trees in a forest. With #ocean temperatures rising, half the world’s coral reefs have already vanished. These farmers are fighting back, one fragment at a time.

Waiting for a full 14 days to ensure my tissue culture media isn't contaminated. And I'm finding I'm being very impatient about it since I won't have time to establish an actual plant into tissue culture for 18 days..... After making the media.. #impatient #plant #plants #lablife #tissueculture

Traditional metal mining uses chemicals and heat to extract metals from ores that naturally want to hold on to them. Phytomining, on the other hand, allows plants to do most of the work of extraction, reducing the energy input required. cen.acs.org/business/sta...
