This would require funding, supplies, and other resources for this to happen. As a vet I would happily join this, but I am not leaving my family to starve when I give up my income on top of having to fund my equipment, transportation, etc.

They can pass the budget with a simple majority, which they have. Elections have consequences. Dems would need to hold a simple majority in one of the houses to do anything real.
