Doctor Who, Liverpool FC and Indie music fan. Lover of Fender offset guitars and Vox amps. Wildlife photographer and traveller to wild, lonely places. Also the classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain.
Or her glorious, explosive reaction to her proposed marriage: "And how would you have me go to Saphadin? Bathed in oriental perfume, I suppose? Suppliant, tender and affectionate? Soft-eyed and trembling, eager with a thousand words of compliment and love?" Truly brilliant performance.

And that lovely performance as Joanna in 'The Crusade':
"There's something new in you, yet something older than the sky itself"

Some of my favorites were her performances in the Companion Chronicles range for Big Finish as Sara Kingdom. She was superb in what were effectively a trio of two-hander plays by Simon Guerrier. Very much recommended.

Funny to look back at 2005 with a sense of nostalgia - but it was almost like a second childhood - 'Doctor Who' back and being brilliant and Liverpool winning the Champions League at Istanbul between episodes of the brilliant 'The Empty Child'. In my memory, every day of that initial run was sunny!

It became quite a moving piece about the passing of time and memory. And also featured some really nicely chosen archive excerpts of interviews with those who we've lost over the years. Ironically for a story that is so overlooked it is probably one of the best docs of the whole range.

The Making of documentary is a textbook example of how to make a feature about a mostly forgotten, piece of 60's TV. It makes a virtue of that. There are some strands that could have been edited down - and yet the piece would really have lost something if they had.

Finding the Season 7 boxset fascinating. The contrast between the information overload of Courtney Family history and their achievements in one documentary, in contrast to'Looking for Mac', where Mac Hulke didn't know who his father was. Not sure if that was deliberate or not, but it was striking.

For me though, he will always be Henry Gordon Jago - not just on TV in 'Talons' but through so many wonderful years of 'Jago & Litefoot' for Big Finish. What a joy it was seeing him back together with Trevor Baxter for so many fantastic adventures. He will be greatly missed.

Was pondering what to watch to celebrate the anniversary - and decided on the 'Tom Baker Years' VHS from 1991 (it is also one of the Season 12 blu-ray features) - nearly 3 hours of Tom reminiscing over clips of his stories - haven't seen it in years and so it is nostalgic in it's own right!

Obviously not too soft though to give Johnson and his mates a good kicking on Christmas Day! Another good reason to love this one.

Really spoiled this year, if you add it the likes of the excellent 'Darkness and Light' and 'Looking for Dursley' documentaries from the 'Doctor Who' blu-ray collection sets.

A really great event with the ever joyful Katy Manning, John Levene and a great group of guests from the Pertwee era - including Bill Filer himself (Paul Grist) at his first convention. Great way to celebrate the 61st!
