Now I can’t stop imagining teens in Invader Zim shirts and studded collars fighting Roman centurions, or the description that Seneca would have written of them

I would highly recommend TheScientist, it still runs in print and has a good blend of extremely technical articles and more widely accessible articles, and the only ads it runs are from the biotech sector.

Sounds like Mary Worth: the game

I turned 19 recently, and I think you definitely have a point about staying humble. In my case it helps that I’m majoring in biochemistry because I’m reminded that I don’t know everything on the regular.

Nice! Was she on the early stoichiometry work of going from grams to moles?

Tchaikovsky is probably my favorite composer

Especially now that most ads use AI

Yeah, I agree, although I will say that the process of using thatch shading is significantly more satisfying when it isn’t overdone

I have not subscribed to it yet, but I’m very tempted to mainly for access to upcoming The Thought Emporium videos that won’t be shown on YouTube because they involve biotech cell collection methods.

A perfect rebuttal from anyone who sees this as an incredibly stupid move (pretty much everyone who has read a single page of US history) would be to just use the technical identification of the school (i.e. call it the fourth school in the district). Opposing neo-Confederate moves always helps.

Hmm, as a current first-year university student I have to say that while plenty of people snap photos of whiteboards and lecture slides I have not yet noticed anyone using AI technology in class, except for one case in my English class where a guy’s paper was flagged as partly AI

Were you welding together 1860’s cannon parts? I don’t understand the context of that happening, unless he was trying to convince you to not tear down Lee & co’s statues, in which case yeah the classic “to do what?” would be in order.

I like the way that you brought up neurons not replicating beyond their differentiation, this study reminds me of an ongoing experiment by The Thought Emporium where rat neurons will be put in a Matrix-esque simulation via an electrode interface.

Was she swimming in salt water just before that? To be fair, the concept of grounding a current is confusing and there are hundreds of examples of misconceptions from shows/movies about electricity.

That sounds disturbingly similar to the “they were kicked out of over forty countries” fearmongering that happened just before the holocaust, which used blatant exaggeration to try to justify the horrors of the concentration camps

At this point Hamas is as likely to disband as the Taliban is to relinquish Afghanistan, so this hypothetical free Palestine is probably less free than you would think.

The other groups vying for control of a Palestinian government had similarly jihadist motives, so it was Israel’s right to decline dealing with a ramshackle government centered on hatred of Jews. Israel has put forward several proposals over the last several decades, which have all been declined

The slogan I mentioned above is anti-Semitic, as is the behavior of many of the protesters.

www.thecollegefix.com/breaking-yal... This is just one example, I saw the same thing happen at my university and there was a worse incident that involved spitting (by the protesters).

There are photos, recordings, and at the university that I am currently attending protestors tried to set up tents after specifically being told not to, so I think all of the examples I listed are factual. I didn’t even include the worst one, the NYC American flag burning “we are Hamas” protest.
May 6, 2024 at 3:55 PM
It could also have to do with Hamas training their soldiers to incessantly hate Jewish people, which means that setting up a country that is literally run by Hamas and trying to make Jews live there would probably lead to an even worse never ending war
May 6, 2024 at 3:52 PM
Well to be more specific, it is a slogan generally used to argue that Israel should be dissolved, but no thought is given to the fate of the Jews who would then be left in the middle of a dangerous free-for-all other than “they can go somewhere else”
