Gave up on my dreams of becoming a writer, an author, a poet - any variation of the word. Spent years in law school, isolated and miserable beyond belief. And somehow, not even landing a position at one of the top law firms in Seoul made it seem like all those years had been worth it. When I finally walked away from the life that had been chosen for me, I stumbled into a bookstore where I met two men and a cat who would change everything. That was roughly three months ago. Since then, I have spent every waking hour with words spilling from me, onto the lined-pages of journals, the notes app on my phone, the word processor on my laptop. Even now, as I type this email from my favourite seat in that very bookstore, the words are still there, waiting for me to release them as if they have been building and building all this time. Attached to this email is a collection of those words. It is everything - loneliness, hopelessness, a changing of tides, happiness, the return of hope. Indigo is everything.

Taejoon, coffee shop au “Are you ever going to give me your real name?” The barista asked, sharpie still poised over the cup in his hands as he raised a brow at Taehyung. “I just did,” Taehyung said without skipping a beat as he glanced down. A name-tag pinned to his shirt told Taehyung his name. Namjoon. Somehow, Namjoon’s dark brow rose higher. “Bruce Banner?” Taehyung nodded. “Yesterday, you were Tony Stark,” Namjoon said, voice monotone. “Things change.” Taehyung smiled brightly, pleasure coiling in his chest when Namjoon swallowed roughly. “Whatever you say, Bruce.” With that, Namjoon turned on his heel. ~~~~~~ “Who are we today?” Namjoon asked, sharpie in one hand and blank white cup in the other. Taehyung regarded him for a long moment, blinking slowly as he took in the dark honey of his eyes and the way soft blonde hair curled around the backs of his ears. “You seem awfully interested in my name,” he said finally, tilting his head. Namjoon’s eyes widened, cheeks filling with pink as he glanced away and back again. “It’s just… I think you’re cute, okay?” “You do?” Taehyung asked and, when Namjoon nodded, he grinned. “Kim Taehyung.” A dimple popped in Namjoon’s cheek as he returned the grin. “Nice to finally meet you, Kim Taehyung.”

When he had been on the verge of giving up. On the bar, on himself. On life. All of the anger he had felt, the doubt and self-hatred that plagued him- all of it had gone with that little seed. He had buried it beneath the soil with shaking hands. He hadn’t expected it to grow. And when it had, he hadn’t expected it to last. But here it was - velvety petals painted orange and yellow and soft, soft pink. Here it was, sturdy trunk and branches, leaves and vines twisting and green.

“I’m so stupid.” Seokjin swiftly raised his hand when Taehyung’s smirking lips parted, cutting him off before he could speak. “This was always about beating me.” The smirk dropped from Taehyung’s mouth. “Wasn’t it- Wasn’t it always about winning?” Seokjin shook his head, words like ash in the back of his throat. “No, Taehyung. It wasn’t.”

Jimin faced the office, coffee carafe held aloft. The liquid inside sloshed around, bits of coffee grinds sticking to the glass as Jimin narrowed his eyes. “Who made this?” He demanded. Several heads turned to him but only one hand raised in the air - the new guy, Kim Namjoon, with cheeks pink and dimpled as he smiled abashedly. A pause as Jimin lowered the carafe and pursed his lips. Then- “Nevermind,” he said before turning on his heel and marching back to the break room, ignoring the heat in his own cheeks and the thump of his heart in his chest.

while we wait, here's a little wip wednesday from my fic!

Ten minutes later, when he’d finally stopped, the door opened again with a low creak. Until that moment, he hadn’t realized that Seokjin was still there. In his apartment. The very same one he’d lived in three years ago when Seokjin had left. They had fucked in this bathroom - in the shower with hot water steaming the room, on the counter with Jimin’s face pressed against the mirror. In fact, there were memories of Seokjin scattered all over his apartment - the bedroom, the living room, the kitchen; hidden behind cushions and tucked into corners and Jimin hadn’t realized what that meant until it was too late. And now- Now, Seokjin was in his bathroom and there was vomit on his shirt. “I drank too much,” Jimin groaned over the pounding in his head.
