What do you call a plot description that only starts to be true over halfway through the movie? Is that deceptive advertising or spoilers?

ADHD: Wouldn’t it be kinda cool to be popular on the internet?
ASD: Let go of that monkey’s paw this instant!

The reason they haven’t tried to reboot or legacy-sequel 24 again is because there’s no way to have a flashback episode. And in 2025, how can any self-respecting season of TV not include a flashback episode?

If I had a nickel for every time my cat has clawed me up for being spooked, I’d have 15 cents. Which isn’t a lot, but he makes those wounds deep.

I’ve been trying to come up with a general pattern for my favorite characters, especially since they are frequently not the obvious choice (ie: someone similar to myself).

Often they are either characters who can steal the show with limited screen time and/or ones I would not have expected to like.

Okay. I’m just going to admit that I don’t know what to make of Pluribus. Which is admittedly on brand with the show.

Oh no. One of the hundreds of loan deals I never applied for (but are constantly being texted to me) has been approved and is expiring soon. Whatever will I do, after I block the number?

I said this probably shouldn’t happen, but I also have my own Mummy 4 plot outline. So yeah, I’m falling for this again.

Oscar winners Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are reportedly reuniting for The Mummy 4 with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett – the filmmaking duo billed as Radio Silence – directing the long-awaited sequel.

I should probably mention this at some point, so here it goes. I voted. Actually a few days ago. Only one issue, but here’s hoping the it turns into a big middle finger to the biggest a-hole running this country.

Nothing worse than weeks of work-related stress and anxiety and on the morning of Halloween, you can’t find your costume. Nor the pieces for the next 3 alternatives.

Sometimes I play simple mental games on my phone to make me feel smart.

Sometimes this backfired so dramatically, it deserves a Shakespearean soliloquy on the tragically poetic irony of it all.

I‘ve been getting a lot of hair re-growth ads lately. And to them I say, I know I’m going bald, you jerks. I’m trying to embrace it. The last thing I need to waste a lot of time, money, ego, and hope trying to stop the inevitable.

Before you ask, I’m also embracing the remaining hairs going grey.

This sounds good and I hope it is.

:sigh: But it’s only going to work if you give the world (and specifically Starfleet/Federation) a sense of internal consistency and permanence outside the frame of the story.

Every time I hear about how Dial of Destiny was a huge financial flop, all I can think about is how the de-aged opening scene was the worst part of the movie.

You could’ve saved so much money by doing so much less.

The thing I like most about the announced Simpsons 2 movie is that I do not have any investment in the franchise. It can be good or bad or any combination of both. I could hear people talk about it nonstop or hear nothing even after its release. It does not affect me.

At least 90% of the time “the government wants you to be dependent on them” means “the government should not protect you.”

It’s not that I can’t remember names or faces. It’s just that it takes me an embarrassingly long amount of time to cement them in my brain.

ADHD: I made dinner!
ASD: :sigh: Do I have to try it?
ADHD: YES! I made it just for us. You wouldn’t want to have wasted our time, money, and effort, right?
ASD: Fine. (eats) Actually it’s barely okay!
ADHD: Just okay?
ASD: It’s a new healthy food. I don’t like half of the ingredients. Take the win.

Alright, I think I’m getting a little too grumpy on main. I need to inject some positivity into my life before “grumpy old man” becomes permanent default.

(Note to self: get an alternate bs account dedicated entirely to being a grumpy old man in his 30s. Beware of anyone who follows this account.)

Hey! Check out this short, slow burn, expensive, serialized, prestige tv show. It starts out really strong and then fizzles out at the end. Even though the entire format and point of this kind of decompressed storytelling is to build up to the big finale.

Weird right?

“This show used to be brilliant and now it just very good. Oh how the mighty have fallen! Oh the hubris of making more than a season or 2 of a tv show! Is THIS what you really want? A show that’s just very good? A stable job for all the actors, writers, and other workers involved? Was it worth it?”

Some days I feel like Sherlock Holmes solving mysteries with a confident smirk.

Other days I’m Nameless Detective #5, being handed 3 more unrelated zodiac cases to add to the pile after a month without a label maker.
