Yes, it was a small fairly conservative state school in the Midwest. I graduated many years ago and think of that class the most of any I’ve taken. more remarkable as time goes on.

I had a womens studies professor try to coax a class to understand that it’s not ’wrong’ for an alcoholic homeless person to take your change you tossed and spend it on alcohol. People were livid lol. It really changed my perspective on giving. its freeing to give without expectation.

Watched it last night with my kids, we were all cracking up (even if I think poor Kevin was treated horribly by his family 😭)

The name recognition alone. You could get all those Americans that seem to vote solely based only on their oppositional defiant disorder.

So color me skeptical of any "cure" for the "male loneliness epidemic" that isn't "abolish patriarchy (and capitalism)."

Patriarchy alienates broad classes of its subjects from relationality just like capitalism alienates broad classes of its subjects from our labor.

The two work in tandem.

We are not lonely because we COULD NOT SURVIVE THIS alone.

For a lot of men, loneliness is a problem, sure, but a problem borne of relative privilege.

They are not in relationship because their survival (and/or the survival of their children) does not hinge on existing in relationship.

My mother in law used to call my kids her Grammys. So cute 🥰

It makes me crazy! I hear so many folks go right to the edge of blaming capitalism and they always retreat to, get women back home with the kids. 😫

The sometimes brutal honestly of children also makes their compliments stick to your ribs.

Ha! My dad was a farm kid and recently told me about how he remembers when the county health dept came around and gave everyone stove top pasteurizers. His mom would give him and his brothers hell if she caught them nipping the fresh stuff.
