The other day, my friend Lonora asked if she could come over for a movie and I said sure. “But no Three Stooges!” she stipulated.

Last night, I was talking to my friend Susan, a dog park mom, and invited her over for a movie sometime and she said she’d like that, and added “But no Three Stooges!”

Say, does anybody see a little brown nose poking out from under the clothes? I was folding the laundry fresh out of the dryer and Guinness had the sudden revelation that the clothes are toasty warm and that he could build a nice, cozy little nest under there.

I know you've all been waiting with breath like live bait to find out what this week's Friday Night Films presentation is. Well, the wait is over: I dunno. It's a riddle! You'll find out when you get here. We do know that we'll have short subjects, cartoons, Rocket Man, and fun stuff like that.

A genuine labor of love - Lucy, that is, as my review of the new massive, huge, amazing colossal Blu-ray complete series is up now at inthebalcony.com. Read it, or you'll have some 'splainin' to do.

Friday nights at midnight in the Sanctum Shocktorium we view pre-1960 horrors as our tribute to Ghoulardi, Hoolihan & Big Chuck, and the other horror hosts we grew up with. Last night's feature? A very tired comedy team, but any Karloff (almost) is worth watching. And Lou is a mouse!

I work with colleagues who are in China; we communicate via the Internet daily and I like to quiz them on American and Western icons. They couldn’t name Elvis or the Beatles by photo but they all knew this guy, if not by name then by “funny man, pantomime.”

I love classic movies.

For those just joining me.... where ya been? For 39 years, I've been hosting Friday Night Films parties for kids, friends, dogs, strangers peering in the window. This week's movie is a recent Blu-ray release and I've never seen it. Plus Soundies, Goofy Gophers, ch. 8 of King of the Rocket Men, et al

Many of the AIP films - including this one and its co-feature, THE BONNIE PARKER STORY - are available to license for home media release, but nobody seems very interested, sadly.

I’m not the only person who, everytime they log in here, has “Never saw the sun shining so bright, never saw things going so right” stuck in their head, am I?

Boy, this is a tough review to write…. 33 discs stacked on top of each other and no guide to anything within. I love Lucy but… c’mon! Don’t make it a chore just to find a season, let alone an episode.
