I would love for Rustad to sue over this and see what the courts would interpret incapacitation as. I would think it usually would refer to medical or functional incapacitation, and not really a loss of confidence. Would be fun!

I understand your logic, but I think it is really misguided. It feels very much like a betrayal to the people who actually voted for you. Your vote on this is the same as what Colleen Hardwick's vote would have been. I know you did it because it was going to pass anyway, but symbolism matters.

I think BC 2017 still takes the cake since this riding doesn't actually make a difference to whom has overall plurality or a majority! LPC is getting close but this one riding isn't actually going to break it unless somehow there's more last-minute flips.

No he doesn’t. He can’t sit in parliament without a seat but he can still lead the party. If he does stay on likely they’ll ask an MP in a safe riding to step down so he can run there in a by election.
