I wish there was more hockey analysis and explanations. like why x team or x player is/isn't doing well, why these players play well together, what makes this pp good

do you expect Ottawa to look for a trade before the new year? I'm not really sure what it would be but 1-0-0-5 is a bit tough to come back from

fyi 37k is the minimum salary, the average is a bit over 55 and the players get a housing stipend. very not ideal but it's not *quite* as bad

they're not streaming the preseason

thoughts on Deguire?
November 16, 2025 at 1:19 AM
the preseason's always wild 😜 also according to someone at the game they switched goalies in the 3rd. I wouldn't expect Boissonault to get regular starts

100%! I'm always wishing for more Victoire coverage

Why was there so much more movement in free agency this past offseason compared to year 1? And do you expect that to happen again next summer?

Schroeder is part of the starting lineup, and is on the same team as Carpenter.

Even more confused about them not signing Kjellbin given the lack of RDs??

Vegas isn't relevant, different league, different draft. all I said is that your math is bad
June 16, 2025 at 5:27 AM
I'm not disagreeing that the mechanics are overly advantageous to the expansion teams. I hope the league adjusts next time they do this, but I find this argument you're making is just ragebait
June 16, 2025 at 4:52 AM
So this graphic showing that the best players are concentrated in the expansion teams is inaccurate. Say 15 of the top players are in MIN, they could only protect 4 and lose 4, and then have 7 more free agents who will probably go to the team that will pay them the best and give them ice time
June 16, 2025 at 4:51 AM
Your logic that 1. Each team lost 4 players 2. Each team protected 4 players => The expansion teams got 24/48 best players (using your definition which includes cost effectiveness) doesn't follow, because it assumes the talent/cost effectiveness is evenly distributed
June 16, 2025 at 4:47 AM
I do think the teams should have been able to protect at least one more initially, and it sucks that we lost so many draft picks. It does reinforce the idea that the league is more "win now" than "win later"
June 15, 2025 at 9:40 PM
100%, a bunch of Ottawa's best players are free agents too so weren't available. SEA/VAN probably would have taken more from MIN/TOR if they could have. this idea that all teams had similar losses is just completely wrong
June 15, 2025 at 9:29 PM
I think Miller's probably going to stay in Toronto, they really need her as their 1C since they lost Nurse and could negotiate very competitively. Obviously I could be wrong, we'll find out tomorrow :)
June 15, 2025 at 9:21 PM
This graphic is so misleading. They might have gotten 24 "top" players under contract (note Rosenthal #67 in pts/gp among forwards this season is in that list) but that doesn't include free agents like Miller, Vanisova, etc. SEA/VAN still signed many expensive players and won't have much cap space
June 15, 2025 at 9:01 PM
They have 67 GF this season, so isn't it more like 2.39 GF/GP?
April 28, 2025 at 1:40 AM
I read somewhere that Ljungblom used to play C? Kinda weird to me that they haven't tried that at all. Otherwise maybe they can re-shuffle when Labelle is back
March 12, 2025 at 9:45 PM
I know O'Neill's great at faceoffs but she had way more success on the wing last season. Is it really worth having her play center when her line is basically guaranteed not to get points, no matter who the wingers are?

Boreen!!
January 17, 2025 at 7:16 PM
has there been any news about Marchment since camp?
January 15, 2025 at 11:04 PM
> I will say that I have some concerns over Corinne Schroeder after the loss to the Frost on Sunday.

Did you mean Levy? Schroeder wasn't dressed for that game.
