Or any major sports draft or draw or award show. Just pathetically organized and run.

I guess the term "capitalism" centres the owners, profit-making and wage dependency more than some like. I agree there should always be a market economy as part of any vibrant society, but is that capitalism necessarily?

They are the dead, pulling the planet down into hell.

Wayne is a bit of an idiot, isn't he.
December 5, 2025 at 7:03 PM
He lets Trump cheat at golf on the regular.
December 5, 2025 at 6:36 PM
And the choice of Gretzky to represent Canada today makes it even worse.

It would also be nice for a show aimed at the whole world to provide some minimal level of translation for those of us who are unfortunate enough not to be multilingual.
December 5, 2025 at 6:11 PM
This is the best way to turn most Americans off of The World Cup (and could the production please provide some translation?)
December 5, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Likewise
December 5, 2025 at 5:54 PM
No, you nailed it.
December 5, 2025 at 5:41 PM
We live in a world of lies.
December 5, 2025 at 5:38 PM
It is making me feel ill. The corrupt celebrating the corrupt and obscuring one of the most exciting sporting events in the world.
December 5, 2025 at 5:35 PM
It will likely be a boon to the book world, which will be the only place we will get interesting, beautiful and challenging art.
December 5, 2025 at 5:22 PM
Or, most importantly, Trump knows who they are.
December 5, 2025 at 5:15 PM
Oops, forgot to mention Skyrim.
December 4, 2025 at 1:40 PM
It could be worse. Mine is all Bon Iver, Iron & Wine and then various ambient and contemporary classical albums, all of which I use to fall asleep to, often in the form of an afternoon nap.

I don't know. I have found that a woman will sometimes offer to buy me a drink. Does that mean I have no chance with her? Should I decline next time ;-)
December 3, 2025 at 9:13 PM
Oh no! I did not mean to phrase that as a criticism of your work at all. Just Nuzzi's. My apologies. You sounded great.
December 3, 2025 at 6:07 PM
It works and, yes, I can hear the post work. Apparently, the Nuzzi original audio was in worse shape than yours!
December 3, 2025 at 5:24 PM
The cadence sounds like they created an AI voice based on existing audio recordings or, perhaps more likely, they used a programme of some kind to badly smooth out or somehow regulate her original reading.

I like the Douglas Coupland definition of Gen X periodization presented here: “If you were born in the ’60s and you don’t remember the J.F.K. assassination, you’re X. Boom, it’s a given.”
December 3, 2025 at 3:04 PM
And one could question if Mormons actually are.
December 3, 2025 at 2:58 PM
And it will be interesting to see if Trump can ever extract himself enough from his love of tariffs in order to give the economy a boost in that way. I will say no, or at least not fully enough.
