It is one of the many reasons we respect @johnmu.com. We have been working on our site and brand for over 16 years. John has been giving sites advice through a lot of it. It was also amazing to finally get to meet him in NY at search central this year. Happy holidays John 😀

Just read through the comments on our viral Instagram video warning our readers to avoid Google AI recipes. Our fans are shocked that Google would do this. After we published this video major media outlets have reached out for interviews. Nothing justifies this! www.instagram.com/reel/DR5opO9...

As we said at the NYC Google meetup earlier this year. We aren’t against AI if used to surface great content or noble pursuits. Right now billions of dollars of compute is being used to plagiarize our work. Organic Google can’t keep saying to produce quality content when AI Google just steals it.

We do! Then Google uses our trusted 15 year old brand name on AI recipes riddled with errors, our photos, our videos, without link citations. AI can’t test or test so it relies on us to train. @lilyray.nyc @rustybrick.com and many other industry leaders agree this is wrong. x.com/inspiredtast...

It is well deserved!👏 Thank you for sharing what we, and the other 21 food sites are seeing, and for highlighting what is going on. What Google and all AI companies are doing to recipes is also happening in all other verticals. They are going to destroy the open web if something doesn’t change!

Here is a gift link to the amazing @bloomberglp.bsky.social article written by @davey.bsky.social. We were quoted in the article. What Google and other AI companies are doing to the open web is horrible. The Google plagiarized AI recipe example we shared is way out of line. bsky.app/profile/dave...
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

Thank you for your help 🙏

Recipes are only one vertical of many that share similar stories. People’s livelihoods and brands that took decades of hard work to build are on the line. The Google examples shared in this article and the on air examples shared yesterday on @cbsmornings.bsky.social news are way out of line.

This would be funnier if Gemini 3 wasn’t using our brand name, photos, and full plagerized LLM error prone recipes in AI recipe mash ups. Things have only gotten worse since we spoke in NYC. Things have gotten so bad, main stream media is writing about it. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Thanks for reposting this! I am glad they have an option available.

Couldn’t agree more 👏 Our readers trust our recipes because we give them reasons why they should trust us. That comes from actual experience testing in a real kitchen. We write our recipe pages and make videos with that goal. AI can never test in a kitchen. Human searchers are seeking authenticity.

This is useful timing! We are putting a wireframe together for our site. The link seems to be broken though.

You can always count on @glenngabe.bsky.social to cover the details and nuance 👏

Thanks for the heads up @johnmu.com. Great article @jono.id 👏👏👏

Only seeing that as an upside. The only requirement…you have to bring that amazing hair back for your keynote. Love it! 😍

Looking forward to seeing your comprehensive core update keynote and smooth dancing moves 😂😀

Great episode! You really did your homework 😀 One important part of the AI slop topic you missed is how Google is using AI slop in the form of AI Overviews in search to replace publishers and websites. It is devastating the open web. www.bbc.co.uk/future/artic...
Is Google about to destroy the web?
Google says adding more AI to its search engine will rejuvenate the internet. Others predict an apocalypse for websites. One thing is clear: this era of online history is closing.

It would be great to see @jasonhowell.bsky.social do a follow up interview with a publisher or a trusted thought leader like @rustybrick.com or @lilyray.nyc for the other side of this story. It would be even better if Nick Fox or @johnmu.com was on for open discussion. www.bbc.co.uk/future/artic...
