If it's below the ankle, sometimes baby socks help for the overnight/unsupervised time. With a little bandage wrap (nonadhesive) to help keep it on.

We used banixx to help our previous dog's hotspots. Most important thing (and usually most difficult) is to stop her from continuing to lick it so it can heal.
