But... that's not true. It was working. It was working very well. I don't understand this line of thinking.

Do we still have enough independent eyes in intelligence services who can keep an eye on these bozos? Seriously.

In the absence of information we LOVE to assume we know what's going on. But let's face it--we have no fucking clue. Maybe it's donor pressure. Or restoring SNAP. Maybe it's because they had an all-night bender then decided "fuck it." But we really don't know. That doesn't mean we stop fighting.

Can I be honest? I think that these are easy thoughts to have. And I think that busting up the Democratic base is like childs' play for conservatives in this information environment.
So... tell me... Dems are feeling pressure from their donors, but Republicans AREN'T?

So either we react by doing one of two things:
1) Yell and run around like headless chickens because the Dems won big last week based on a lie, and we give up because politics is fucked, or,
2) Keep fighting like hell for what we believe in, whether it involves Dems or not.

But unless they have a play regarding the nominal vote... then why? Why bother? None of this makes sense at this point.

So... what's the ultimate political gain here for the Democratic Party?

I still don't understand this. How can (even by using these senators as cover) accepting this deal be a win for them? Most voters blame Republicans for the pain caused by the shutdown. What do Democrats have to gain by allowing this CR to pass?

Can you explain the strategy to me?

I don't think this was a strategy. I think we're witnessing an actual split in the Senate Dem caucus with poor caucus leadership.

Every person deserves to live in a stable society where they have the opportunity for nutrition, education, and for their children to thrive. I am done with stupid, shortsighted, dingbat men with too much ambition and not enough therapy who ruin it for everyone.

Words are wind. All I hear is rhetoric. If she actually votes accordingly with her ostensible turn to the left, then maybe I'll believe her.
