Grumpy ENM AuDHD bloke trying to haphazardly survive life. Senior sysadmin/security engineer at the moment, developer, infrastructure, architect, pick a hat off the rack depending on the day.
All opinions/comments/rants here are my own.

None of the other parties locally are doing this. The accounts are likely centrally handled/content fed with a little local councillor input. I can spot the patterns and social manipulation a mile off, it's relentless, and wondering why nobody is fighting back. But I'm too exhausted to do it myself.

Okay, got to be said, having the stand up desk is actually pretty cool, and nice to work on. Also, when sat down, having a desk at the right height is also nice, it's been far too low for far too long.

It's also quite novel having a desk that isn't drowning in clutter.

I did think that at the time 🤣

Still. Made it. Now to reassemble the VESA arms. It's got to be said, it's pretty cool.

Today's excitement: assembling a standing desk I got last year from work. Hacked ADHD brain into assembling it by losing* (thought dropped) a tiny screw out of a PC, which was motivation to say "disassemble old desk and clean under it too"

*was screwed into the damn M. 2 adapter in the wrong socket

Seriously, just fuck off already with the attempts to get me to sign up to Threads, Meta. I'm about as interested in it as your attempts to force "AI Assistants" down my throat.

(Also, thank goodness for BuzzKill so I can automatically dismiss this crap. If only I could remove it from the apps...)

Hey @deck.blue, just an FYI - there's a couple of Unicode-related display bugs in Firefox when you click the compose button and in settings. Screenshots below. Suspect it's related to JS/local encoding/server declared encoding somewhere. Definitely eliminated font issues, and works fine in Chromium.

Today, after nowhere near enough sleep, and facing a family birthday party this afternoon, I figured I had just enough energy to perform one big task. Decided the greatest QoL investment was "fix my damn coffee machine". Took hours, swearing, disassembling and YT videos, but... lo and behold. Latte.

Google, you are forgiven, well done for unscrewing that. We have history back.

I shall promptly be exporting that lot!

I don't know what I've done to Reddit for it to keep punting this ad at me, but it's kinda disturbing that I'm getting it pushed at me at all. Makes you think "what sort of profile do I fit?!"

The only thing I may need help to stop is my obsessive building and optimisation in Satisfactory. 🤷‍♂️

At work at the moment, I feel like a certain scientist saying "Uh...it's probably not a problem...probably...but I'm showing a small discrepancy in...well, no, it's well within acceptable bounds again. Sustaining sequence."

We know how that went.

"Nothing you need to worry about Rick. Go ahead..."

Also some enterprising advertisers, and some that just look like they're doing it for fun. Still, that has tickled me today.

TIL: While randomly wandering around Google Maps, went to Street View in Ho Chi Minh City. Image quality was lower than usual Street View, and limited streets. Turns out enterprising local tour folk on motorbikes did them, complete with adverts where the head would be on the camera 🤣 Well played!

Oh my god, yes. More Portal! More Science! More Testing! :-D

This is making me remarkably happy. Free mod. So far, so good, and feeling very almost official style. Engine seems to have had a nice bump too.

Mentally exhausted, totally unfocused, decided I fancied McDs breakfast this morning, managed to drive into a random industrial estate, on a journey I've done 100 times before in a morning, after arguing with the McDonalds (truly, truly awful React-style) app yet again. Fuck this week!

Saw this via Mastodon, made me chuckle. Yeah, that tracks 🤣

Just walked up Pendle for the first time in a few years. Happy enough with that time, 1.5 hours from the village, and only needed a 60 second pause halfway up to let some oxygen and energy hit my legs, and a couple of 15 second pauses. Not bad going at all.
