Neat Blender trick I stumbled across recently. If you shift-click other snap targets, you can snap to multiple things based on what you hover over. With these settings if I'm moving my mouse over empty space, it snaps to increments and over meshes it snaps to vertexes and edges

While I'm finishing up a few last things on last weeks scene, I figured I might as well show the layered material I'm using for the ground. I'm still getting used to doing more stylized stuff like this but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out 😃

I still wanna get a proper render of last weeks scene done so this week I'm going to get a bit more experimental and add some C++ to my materials and see what I get. Happy so far after just following a single tutorial last night. Excited to see where this goes!

I also spent too much time trying to recreate the procedural brushstroke material I saw from a Sunset Overdrive GDC talk. I ended up setting the red and blue to black to get a comic book-esque look. Pretty happy with it overall, gonna see what other cool stuff I can do with it now!

Just realized I never posted the final environment from last week. I don't think I spent enough time blocking it out and getting references but I did learn some cool tricks to use for my next environment!

I've been feeling annoyed at how long it takes for me to get environments done so this week I've decided to challenge myself and try making an environment in a week. Let's see how this goes!

Added a music video by Eve to see how it looks in motion. I like that the video gets a bit choppy, it makes it feel a bit more real but I should probably look into getting rid of it too.

Made a pretty awesome screen material so you can see 'pixels' when you get close to any of the screens in my scene

There's also the ability to change the height of the building, as well as adding a unique floor every "x" amount. I also set it up so that each tile can be randomized for more unique looking buildings, I just don't have the models set up for it yet
