Yeah the way they talk about babies dying is chilling. 😕 And again, not necessarily how folk would think/would have thought about pregnancy losses even in contexts where they are/were much more common events.

I guess it’s probably been developing for a while? The ideas of “therapeutic crisis” etc from homeopathy are based on a similar thought. But no doubt social media has massively accelerated that kind of thinking, especially as it’s increasingly tied in with elements of the alt right.

Ooh! Also I do think there are some historical precedents for people resisting medical advice - there are political cartoons from 19th C London making out that cholera wasn’t a thing… and there have been various anti-vax ideas well before 20th C too.
