Maybe you're being too hard on yourself? Try going with the flow a bit and experiment.
Or what is it exactly that "looks bad"? Maybe if you struggle with poses & perspective and such, what helped me understand it a bit better was the process of sculpting and modelling in Blender.

I think it's different for everyone - I'm lazy as hell so I never get "motivated to improve my drawing skill", instead I just draw whatever I currently need / crave.
So for me the best way to just draw and enjoy it is to have a clear or approximate vision of what the end result should look like.
