Native roses are keystones that support over 100 caterpillar species.

The shown species, swamp rose (Rosa palustris), thrives in full sun to part shade in medium-wet soils, can be grown as a hedge, and attracts a variety of pollinators.

All grass lawns and invasive landscaping plants are out for 2025. Creating habitat for wildlife using native plants is in! Even small yards can make a difference when it comes to supporting native insects and birds.
