I do some writing, so am a fan of readers in general, but I'm largely put off by the way social media has become a tool for seeking attention from strangers.

Even 20 years ago it was more of a hangout.

Fair enough.

I guess it's like the book version of butt implants and Botox injections.

Let's be sure to pile our fireworks close to where we're setting them off. It's more efficient.

The last few days I've seen post after post like, "I read 102 books in 2025. I'm going to double that in 2026!"

Why? I mean, aside from the "Look at me" of it all, why are people keeping track?

It looks like the defender tipped, but oof.

Sidney Powell, that you?

And you admit that?

Smith is right. Fraud is not protected speech.

Forget author for a minute and just be a writer.

Frame a story in your head, maybe outline it, even loosely, and then write it. Repeat.

Writing is the chicken and the egg.

I think they reuse the butter from year to year and it starts to go rancid.

Just do be cautious.

genuine LOL! Thank you!

I have a butter sculptor in one of my unfinished novels, also a bacon thief.

We do ours in a deeper dish, so thicker layers, but yours looks tasty as well.

We turned our entire country over to the people who never raised their hands.

The neat thing about AI art is that it can't be copyrighted. You can just have it, use it, replicate it, sell it, profit off it, no attribution necessary.

That could not be said for the same shot from a real camera of a real boat in a real fog.

it's powerful until it isn't, and then it ties itself in knots breaking the code even worse.

100%

Same with the smart phone. Made everything worse.

Trump is selling pardons, and he's not hiding it.

Sally Yates was a damn impressive person.

I don't think you could cobble together a single Sally Yates from the entirety of this administration.

Two tiered justice system? Like the one for people who can afford a pardon and those who can't?

At 16, I got a tattoo from fellow high schooler with a homemade tattoo rig. It looks like a jacked up letter P (not my intention).

I still have it, and it's clearly visible for anyone to see my mistake, but 40 years on, I'm not that same kid.

We all do stupid shit. Some learn, some don't.

BTW, this replaced a dishwasher we bought in 2012, probably a Whirlpool. I'd fixed it a couple times, but it was time for a replacement.

Night and day difference.

We got a new dishwasher this year, a Bosche 500 series from Costco ($1200) and the very first wash blew my mind. I did not know a dishwasher could get dishes that clean.

My 35+ year old coffee mug with the permanent brown stain - white. Stainless pans - sparkly like in commercial.

SO CLEAN
