In true Inkygeek style, I go to the www.SRL.org machine shop garage sale (so many CCTV cameras, lenses, bits & a whole bunch of Intuos 3 tablets) & only come out with esoteric paper products:

(They’re saying they’ll keep doing this every Sunday for a few weeks; will update if/when I hear more)
Small pile of unusual paper items in the dirty back seat of a car. A box of MED-PAK brand Chemical/Thermal ECG Recording paper, a roll of gridded paper that is for machine output, a box of HeartLine brand ECG paper rolls sitting on a packet of sheets of specialised graph paper for some sort of medical use. (I did leave some behind). Front door of SRL’s current warehouse in Petaluma. You can see some carts to the left stacked with all sorts of esoteric equipment. It’s a light brown single-storey building with the big red “SRL” letters above a door with a very blue sky beyond.

I used an Animaniacs (plastic) lunchbox in High School as a handbag. Still have it in my closet. Not sure what happened to the Thermos (I vaguely remember the print coming off in the wash).

Oh dear. Ashby is on the porch still (again?) this morning & is VERY WET AND GRUMPY.

I stood with the door open for a bit & he just glared at me & yelled, all humped up. I’m not sure his person is/has been home. Going to try to figure out how to contact her today. (Only have her ex’s #.)

Trying to talk myself out of temporarily stealing the neighbour’s indoor/outdoor cat for a week while @buttplug.engineer is off to Melbourne for work. The cat (Ashby) is still on our porch chair in the cold, dark, & wet rainy weather.

I took a tiny nap & thanks to said tiny nap I am in the bedroom when the light is just right to reflect rainbows all over the room off the disco trash can in here. I’m never in here for it usually. No pics of the trashcan, just the rainbows.

I stayed in a hipster hotel room in LA many years ago that had a fish as an amenity. (See alt-text). *Still* don’t know how I feel about it. Definitely not as cuddly as a cat-menity would be.

A cd jewel case on a dark desk top. The case is a PC Game from 1996 called “the Neverhood” with a confused looking claymation guy in red on a green clay hill. The subtitle to the game is “Embark on a clay adventure that breaks the mold”. It is a very 90’s game, put out by Dreamworks Interactive.

The doodle is of various pine needles. Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Dante’s Cosmology a flat purpley blue. There wasn’t a ton of shading and no sheen. It is an all around nice blue ink. The doodle is of Dante’s levels of existence (sort of). Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Nutmeg (shimmer) a greyish-warm-taupey-brown colour that defies description. It has a fairly heavy gold shimmer. There is some shading. The doodle is of a couple dried nutmeg seeds. Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Portuguese Meteor (glistening) is the second of the non-standard inks in this Colorvent. It’s an oceany Caribbean blue that shades wonderfully and has a very subtle aqua blue shimmer. It foamed up and was very hard to get the shimmer to translate to the page. It’s very stubborn. The doodle a drawing of the meteor that was on social media in 2024 over Portugal. Day 21 is the opposite of Day 20. All 3 are saturated. A shimmery green, a musty sheener & a gorgeous red-orange.

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Cosmic Glow (Extreme Sheen) is a stinky, musty sheening blurple. The sheen is so heavy it stuck to my nibs and rinse glass. The ink smelled bad in the bottle. The doodle is just some space clouds. Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Giant Sunspot is a shading red-orange. It’s very well behaved and legible. The doodle is of a sun with a blob missing to illustrate a sunspot. Day 20 is three moody pastels. A warm terracotta, a shady purple & a grey-pink-blue (not another grey!)

Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Potpourri (standard) is thankfully not scented, a dusty multichrome shader that is overall a warm lavender with grey tones, blue and pink shading around the edges. It shades heavily, but legibly, in the writing and doodle of a bag of potpourri. Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 White Hole which is not another grey, but is a greyed watery blue with some hints of pink in the heavier areas. It also shades heavily, just with less obvious other colours involved. The doodle is an attempt at drawing rays coming out of a graphed vortex shape. Day 19 is a fussy but pretty aqua blue, the dreaded hairspray Irn Bru & a lovely plum w/aqua glitter that coords!

The doodle is of a sunrise. Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Tundra (standard) another grey from Diamine, this is a medium shading grey with a bit of a warm tone in the swatch, but is just mid-grey in written text. Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Eclipse Silence is a deep, flat very dense (but not sticky or sheeny) solid black ink. It didn’t have a lot of flow (I had to dip my pen, even with a feed, in it several times to finish words) but wasn’t terribly dry. It was an odd texture. The rinse water was a grey colour, which is odd for such a dense black, I’d expect some red in it. Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Sleigh Ride (extreme sheen); a very similar ink to Day 11’s Grotto, but is just a darker base colour, bricky/rusty red with a deeper green/gold sheen. Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Brinicles is a standard cool lighter sea blue. It’s honestly not the most interesting, but I know people will like it. It was a bit dry, no sheen & not much shading. The ink has a dry flow and feels a little restricted even in dip nibs. Middle ink swatch is Diamine Inkvent 2024 Black Edition, Mint Twist (chameleon) a light, minty green with pink/yellow tones in the heavier areas, probably due to the chameleon shimmer which on paper is primarily blue/aqua, but in the bottle has some purple/pink notes, too. I wonder what kind of mint twist they were thinking of when naming this ink - candy or booze? Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 This is a DENSELY pigmented sheening dark teal blue. It’s fairly sticky (had to take my nibs to the sink, not just swish in rinse water) to clear it out, but it’s beautiful. I’m not usually one for blue inks, but this one with the red-pink sheen is too lovely to hate. In the fine nib it is hard to tell from the Purple Yam, they’re both so dense. It shades nicely in the large swatches, but the writing is hard to make out. Bottom Ink is Colorverse Colorvent 2024 Neptune Occultation which is a deep purpley blue/bluey purple that is on the edge of sheening, but doesn’t. It is almost black in the written areas, but still reads as the deepest blurple. It was the one that elicited the “ooh” when swatching.
