Exciting developments today. Picked up 5 shrimp and a new little snail for the new tank. The shrimp have been taking turns munching on the algae wafer I added (as a little treat).
So far, they are exploring and munching on biofilm like happy little bugs :)

Starting up a second (new) tank. Still need some more plants, and im thinking about adjusting some of the hardscape pieces, but so far i like it. Now to start it’s 3-4 week period of cycling.

i put cuttings from my monstera (leftover from stalks I’m propagating) in the tank, and it ended up beibg a perfect hiding spot for one of the surviving shrimp.
Currently in the process of setting up a permanent shrimp tank, but this one has been extricated & is safe from the betta

After two years of researching fish care and repeatedly talking myself out of it…today i decided to take the plunge and get an aquarium.
I still need to pick up more live plants and im a little short on substrate, but im so excited.

Went walking at the local park (because i will not let The Horrors™️ overtake my life). 2.5 miles and a good sweat later, I do feel better.

The only crime I experienced in DC is that I can’t get delicious pastries like this where I live.

Looks like my original snake plant (I own 2) grew into its pot and it’s decided to GROW. At least I can keep it in this pot for the next several years while it goes nuts.

Ive become the owner of an amaryllis bulb. It was one sealed in wax. Did some research and Im hopeful I can get it to grow, now thats it’s freed and the bulb is confirmed to be healthy.
