I have opposed called QB runs for 20 years.
Increases injury risk.
Shortens careers.
And this year, with the #Eagles, it got Jalen Hurts injured (again) and cost Saquon Barkley the rushing record.

Nick Sirianni, Jalen Hurts, and Kellen Moore cost Saquon Barkley the record | Marcus Hayes
The quarterback runs too much, which takes away carries from the backs and puts him at risk — the key factors in Barkley's failed pursuit.

Caitlin Clark, Saquon Barkley lead my annual Athlete of the Year rankings. Also, a golfer (!), or even 2?

Saquon Barkley, Caitlin Clark lead annual Athlete of the Year list | Marcus Hayes
Don't sleep on Scottie Scheffler's historic 2024, which broke Tiger's record; Patrick Mahomes' sustained greatness; and, of course, Sho-Time, the best baseball player ever.

Happy New Year!🎆
Like many of you, 2024 presented many challenges, both personal and professional, but also many triumphs and joyous days. Philadelphia is the best town in which to be a sportswriter, and as I enter my 31st year in Philly, I look back and ahead with gratitude.

Saquon Barkley needs 101, but for a playoff team to chase a record in a meaningless (and 17th) game with an exhausted team is dumb. The #Eagles lost AJ Brown & Hurts got injured last season in a long-shot finale. Will Sirianni learn from that mistake?
www.inquirer.com/eagles/eagle...
Saquon Barkley shouldn’t chase the rushing record; Eagles say they need rest; Lions, Vikings play for No. 1 seed
The NFL is about winning games, not setting records, and anyway, this one would be contrived in spirit and asterisked in fact, since it would come in a 17th game. The fellas need a break.

No Jalen!
No Nakobe?
No problem.
Nick Sirianni did the best job of his season in the 41-7 win over the Cowboys that clinched the NFC East for the #Eagles.

Nick Sirianni’s finest hour: Without Jalen Hurts, coach leads depleted Eagles to NFC East title, 41-7, over the Cowboys
His backup QBs combined for three touchdown passes and his defense played with discipline and composure after a collapse and (another) embarrassing postgame incident at Washington the week before.

It’s really impossible to quantify the impact that Greg and Bryant Gumbel had on young journalists of color, particularly in the 1980s and 90s. They were the epitome of elegance, professionalism, and versatility, combined with astounding grace, and, of course, talent. #RIP

The Eagles should sit Jalen Hurts against the Cowboys, even if he clears concussion protocol | Marcus Hayes
It’s up to players to protect themselves and it’s up to teams to protect their investments. At $255 million, Jalen Hurts is the biggest investment the Eagles have ever made.
