The interview also highlights something that I really love about NES games, but also about games in general: the ones that play more like anime tend to be the ones that I love the most. Like I want to play an anime. Games, with their wild themes, enable that sort of imaginitive play

Both Blade Runner and Ninja Gaiden played formative roles in my childhood psyche by scarring me emotionally, through crazy images and exceptional difficulty. I love them now, but they're just both things that stuck. Anyways, here's a fun thing that I just discovered 😂 shmuplations.com/ninjagaiden/

Just look at these shots! Never has a bar looked so incredible, Lambert so cool...and the wide shot with Brenda (Roxanne Hart) looking at Conner down the street, it feels like the kind of framing that you'd have in a comic panel, getting all of that information in there

Highlander is one of those funny stories that gets adapted into everything, but also comes off of a poor box office record. Like it found second life home video, again illustrating how the value of a story can't entirely be measured at the box office
