I think you are missing the point Vickie. The saying "freedom isn't free" does not dismiss the fear that people feel when being intimidated by an officer of the law. Your take is the take of someone who has never had to deal with this kind of fear.

Talk of god or religion has no place in our government... period. You can have your beliefs and your celebrations, you can keep national holidays--but that's it. Why are people still swearing in on a religious book and not a book of law, or the constitution?
