I'm confident that our military won't follow illegal orders. Unfortunately, if Trump labels the protest a terrorist attack and the protestors as enemy combatants, then those orders to open fire technically ARE legal.

Copyright/patent law is bonkers. Like, WB and Nintendo patenting game mechanics even though patent law explicitly prohibits patenting game mechanics. There's a company that patented "scan to pdf" and makes its money by suing random companies for violating said patent.
