lol, same would happen when I did a probe ware lab for EKGs… those printouts were also amazingly perfect and so rhythmic. Not sure if it was the probe ware or the fact that I’m old and in wonder of youngsters with normal sinus rhythms 🤣

Now that we have done away with Affirmative Action and weakened and dismantled DEI, one can expect our academic institutions to be less representative, our work places more hostile, and productivity and creativity less diverse

that couldn’t compete with individuals equally qualified and more tolerant when the field was somewhat leveled… and once they were no longer permitted to create hostile work environments to force diverse colleagues out.

quikly increasing dismantling of DEI is meant to achieve one goal, and one goal only… it feeds the repackaged rhetoric of old race science tactics, the dehumanization of communities long viewed as “others”, and support the fragile ego of white (largely males)

it was easy to then attack DEI, an ethos meant to support a diverse work environment and academic culture.

The attack on Affirmative Action in higher education by the Supreme Court in 2023 was the successful first attempt needed to reverse the gains in diversity that had been achieved. With Affirmative Action essentially dismantled,

We started to see increased longevity and success, more diverse academic fields and work teams, increased diversity in leadership - which all leads to a change in culture, the culture of white ideology and power.

Meaning, just because you are hired based on equal qualifications doesn’t mean that you will be set up for success within the position..
Microagreesive-filled, hostile, racist, sexist, queer-phobic biases were still rampant leading to many hired leaving due to the hostility.

The challenge with Affirmative action was that while it opened the door for equal recognitions in hiring practices, it did not address the work/academic culture.
