Item descriptions mention that the giant boar isn't just a mount, but a mobility aid he considers "his other half". His model doesn't have him gripping the boar, horse rider-style, but rather he seems fastened onto it. Greaves made as a "cruel joke" that "he could not wear" are found seperately.

True. Say what you will about Halo: Combat Evolved, the alien weapons are great visual design. But with each subsequent entry, they adopted more generic rifle silhouettes that wouldn't look especially out of place in the Call of Duty franchise.
