Through Industrial Revolution schooling started to standardize. Think how people learned longer ago. People pursued interest, had different tutors, mentored with people. Grading and testing are highly problematic. Hard science approach to social sciences is fundamental problem.

I’m a teacher and the expectation to keep dolling out tedious lots of standardized curricula is crushing my soul. I rail against it, tell the kids to rise up! Power to the people! Refuse to sit all day in windowless rooms getting buried in “content” that will be soon forgotten. Radical ed. reform!!!
